1875-S

Hub Combo: Type 1/1

This is one of the most common of the dates and easily found in all conditions. These coins will likely trade at about a 30-40% discount to non-chopped examples.

Hub Combo: Type 1/2

While a slightly better combination than the 1/1, this is still very common and should trade at the same 30-40% discount from non-chopped.

Variety: Micro S

This is a very scarce variety of the type 1/2 hub combo along with a very small s mintmark. Reliable population reports are hard to come by but there are likely 20-25 chopmarked examples extant. Pricing can vary as the market for this variety is somewhat limited.

Variety: FS-501 S/CC

A scarce but very popular variety that is commonly included as its own entry in the date set. This pairs the 1/1 combo with a ghostly but visible C to the right of the S; the die had a CC mintmark mostly polished off before a S mintmark was applied. The circumstances leading to this occurrence is unknown. This variety will likely trade at about a 30% discount to non-chopped examples

Variety: FS-502 S/CC

Much scarcer than the other S/CC combo but also much less readily apparent. High grade, early die state examples show a die lump to the left of the S and, rarely, a hint of a lump to the right of the S. Nearly all circulated examples need to be identified via other markers. Later die states will have a pronounced crack through the center of Trade and the beginning of a die crack at the top of the second S in States. There is little market data available but these will likely trade at a similar price as the other S/CC variant.
